Student Biography

Michael Hopper is currently in his fifth year at Penn State University studying Architectural Engineering, with a focus in structural systems.  In December of 2009, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor of Architectural Engineering/Master of Science with honors.  Upon graduation, Michael will also gain EIT status. 

During the summer of 2008, Michael interned with Leslie E. Robertson Associates, R.L.L.P. (LERA), an internationally recognized structural engineering firm that specializes in innovative design.  The previous summer, Mr. Hopper participated in his first structural engineering internship with TRC Worldwide Engineering, a consulting firm concentrating in the design of pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete structures.  Throughout these valuable experiences, he worked on a variety of projects, ranging from forensic cases to the design of new construction. 

As a member of a military family, Michael has had the opportunity to live in various locations along the east coast of the country.  In his free time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, golfing, and skiing.  Michael is a member of Phi Alpha Epsilon, the National Architectural Engineering Honor Society, and in the past was a member of the Structural Engineering Association.
